Helicopter Spirals Wildly into Palm Trees at Well-Known Southern California Coast
A chopper flying over a popular California shoreline suddenly commenced twirling out of control, ultimately losing altitude and plunging into a row of palm fronds as beachgoers looked on.
Recordings uploaded on social media depict the aircraft beginning to twirl above the beach then descending near the perimeter of the beach, where it becomes wedged among palms and a steps close to the Pacific Coast highway.
Rescue Operation Information
The Huntington Beach fire department reported five persons were taken to hospital including a pair who were in the helicopter and were “rescued from the debris” after the incident on that day.
Three persons on the pavement were hurt. Details on their condition were not yet released.
The reason for the accident was still under investigation.
